I will confess...I have been looking at Craiglist several times a day for a dog....it finally paid off! Sophie was FREE to a loving home!! She is a Jack Russell Terrier and Beagle Mix. She is precious, sweet, and loving. She is very gentle with Emily Grace and Austin. She loves to play with her toys by tossing them up and going after them. She does have a pink plus toy she loves..and of course her collar is pink and brown..LOL..Em loves all the pink!
We have been very busy this June. We had VBS at the begining. Then last week Em, Austin, and I went to Grammie and Granddaddy's in Florida to celebrate Grammie's and Emily Grace's birthdays. Grammie and Granddaddy treated us to Five Guys, Burgers, and Fries at PC beach. Em and Austin also got to ride the train and the carousel while we were down there. We had so much fun spending time with everyone!
We spent the day playing in the pool and eating popsicles. Little Emily came over from across the street to swim also this afternoon. They all had so much fun!!
We got a slip-n-slide for Austin and Emily Grace. It was so much fun to watch them learn how to slide down it. Emily Grace got the hang of it pretty quick. I think Austin was more interested in the water coming out of the sides of it. They must of played on it for over an hour...hopefully that means they will sleep good tonight!! LOL
May has been busy! Em had her last day of school and then we headed to Grammie and Granddaddy's in Chipley to see them and also go to ESC Graduation in Dothan. I had seven students that I taught in the 4th grade graduate. We also went to Crystal Lake. Em and Austin were only able to play for a little bit due to all the rain! We had a great time seeing old friends and spending time with Grammie, Granddaddy, and Uncle Blake.
We are totally addicted to NCIS. The season finale was tonight. We knew we would be left hanging....AHHHHHHHHHH. Is Ziva coming back? It is going to be a very long summer until the new season starts and answers all our questions. At least we can watch reruns on CBS , USA, and ION to get our NCIS fix.
Emily Grace in her cap and gown picture. She will have a little program and get her diploma next Wed. I cannot believe how fast this year has gone by and that my baby girl is going to be a first grader. (sigh)
As Mother's Day approaches I am thankful for my Mama Faye, Granny (who I miss!) and Diana. I have been blessed to have them in my life, for their example, and for always loving me like I was theirs since I was 19 years old. I also am blessed with a wonderful mother-in-law, sister-in-laws, my best friend Stef, and friends from college and work places. I am truly thankful for all the wonderful women that God has placed in my life...and for my children having wonderful grandmothers and aunts. (Yes..they have awesome Granddaddys and Uncles too...I will get to you guys on Father's Day! )
Four years ago on Mother's Day (May 8) I was 37 weeks preggo and feeling yucky..plus I was really missing Granny (who had passed away that January..and her birthday was May 6). After calling my OB, she decided I needed to come in and get checked. So after being there a couple of hours with a temp, raised blood pressure, and being given fluids with no change...still having contractions but not feeling them ...my doctor decided since I was already going to be a c-section....Austin would be born that day. So my poor hubby...who WOULD NOT let me pack a bag before we WENT to the hospital and to go home and get my things...LOL...and let his parents know what was going on since they were watching Emily Grace. So on Mother's Day at 4pm Austin made his entrance into the world weighing 7 pounds and 7 ounces. What a precious gift and sweet reminder of God's blessings.
So as I Mother's Day approaches, I think of my sweet babies, of all the precious women that God has blessed my life with...I cannot help but think of those sweet ladies still waiting to hold a precious bundle in their arms. I think of my BF Stef of how her and David struggled to have a baby for years and finally had Sarah Emily. So pray for those sweet ladies...I saw this video on another blog and thought it would be fitting. (Pause the music at the bottom of the blog to hear the video.)
I am a teacher currently staying home with my three year old son, I love to scrapbook, take pictures, read, married for seven years to my hubby who is a student minister, mom to five year old Emily Grace and three year old Austin who keep me on my toes!
